Our Research Institut (ARI) in Davos is seeking after a


Manager (m/f) of our Biomedical Services Program


The Biomedical Services Program performs research and service work within three focus areas: Biomechanical R&D, Prototype Workshop and Concept Development. All three focus areas are very technically oriented and focus in collaboration with clinical partners and the AO Technical Commission (AOTK) to improve patient care.

In this offered position you will report directly to the Director of AO Research Institute Davos and will be a member of the ARI Management Team.

Besides managing the team you will be responsible for:

  • Definition of the program goals with ARI Director
  • Management of activities between Biomedical Services and other AO units; responsible for Biomedical Services commitments
  • Management and control of all external Biomedical Services resources contracted to perform Biomedical Services-assigned work
  • Project management responsibility for all Biomedical Services projects
  • Representation of the Biomedical Services to the outside world, as required by management.
  • Responsible for yearly budgeting of Biomedical Services budget allocations and tracking as required of expenses throughout the fiscal year
  • Preparation and approval of program reports and publications
  • Evaluation and establishment of new service activities in respect to the AO Mission

To fulfill this position you have a PhD in engineering with corresponding knowledge in engineering (for orthopedics, trauma) as well as an advanced training in project management. Business experience in industry (min. 2 years including project management, personnel management) is a requirement. Furthermore you have a good track record in publishing. Excellent communication skills as well as very good language skills in English and German are mandatory.
